MPAJ presents conferences which cover a wide range of themes in order to promote and provide information on the Japanese music business worldwide. These conferences have been held at international events. From 2001 to 2009 they took place at MIDEM in Cannes, France, before relocating to Music Matters in Hong Kong from 2009. The events were originally supported by the Society for Administration of Remuneration for Audio Home recording (sarah) from 2001 to 2009. Since 2010, MPAJ has been presenting the events independently, without external support.
